BSA NOW SMAS ACCREDITED FOR PRINCIPAL DESIGNER ROLE

SMAS is a national accreditation organisation affiliated to SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement).

The certification means that clients of all kinds recognising SSIP/SMAS evaluation of the systems and documentation of BSA can simply ask for a quote without requiring an assessment for health and safety.

The certificate communicates that BSA has the skills, knowledge, experience and the organisational capability necessary to fulfil the role that they are appointed to undertake, in a manner that secures the health and safety of any person affected by the project.

Technically, BSA has been awarded a SMAS ‘Worksafe Consultant Membership Certificate’ following the ‘SSIP Stage 1 Core Criteria’, evaluating the designated elements of Health and Safety Management documentation with respect to:

  • The Health and Safety at Work Act etc 1974
  • The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015
  • The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999

As a leader in the development of the Principal Designer role with regard to health and safety, BSA is one of the first to become SMAS accredited.
